Event Description
Late last year the IRS announced a campaign to scrutinize attorney fee deferral transactions that appears to build upon the 2022 GLAM. This new IRS campaign has raised concerns within the legal, structured settlement and settlement planning communities as to whether the IRS now intends to broadly challenge all attorney fee deferrals or focus primarily on specific transactions involving monetization features, such as loans.
To provide guidance on these issues, AASC has scheduled a webinar titled “The IRS Deferred Attorney Fee Campaign – What AASC Members Need to Know” featuring two members of our Legs & Regs Committee: Jeremy Babener and John McCulloch.
